My name is Graham Wade and
I'm a practicing Artist and Art Tutor living in Thurgoona,
a suburb of Albury, New South Wales. Albury is a part of the much
larger Albury-Wodonga Region r />
on the New South Wales - Victorian border, Australia.
I call myself a "practicing Artist" and, while some may say I need a lot
more practice,
I reckon I'm pretty bloody good
!! (a little self praise never
hurts?).
While I'm prepared to try almost any medium or technique, I mainly work in a traditional style with oils and watercolour. I also work with graphite and charcoal and occasionally dabble with pastels.

I produced these videos because I tutor a couple of local art groups in my local area. The tutoring only goes for a few hours (3 hours once a week & 5 hours once a month). The limited time makes it difficult to do demonstrations during class time and still allow students time to practice the techniques, so I made the videos
To overcome this, I started making instructional videos and posted them on YouTube as an "unlisted" video, so only the students who got the clickable link could see the videos (i.e. not available to the general, global public).
I also place drawing and painting images and examples on this site so my students can access them at home after the class has finished.
Future Videos
Most of my students are pensioners, trying painting for the first time and on a limited budget. Because of their budget restraints, they can usually only afford cheaper brands of paint, brushes and painting surfaces available. Added to this is the fact that at this point, they are not sure if they can actually create a painting so they don't want to invest a lot of money in art materials.
To address the newcomers and those with budget restraints, I will be making a set of instructional videos using the cheaper products usually available from discount "Two Dollar" and "Variety" type stores. By doing this, I am facing the same challenges as they would be using the cheap products.

ART TUITION
If you are in, or near, the Albury Wodonga Region and would like some Art Tuition in Oil Painting, Watercolour Painting or Drawing skills, I can provide either one-on-one tuition in the privacy of your own home or tuition for groups of up to 8 people.
Any more than eight people in a group means my time with each person is spread too thinly, reducing the quality of the tuition.
It is difficult to calculate a fee for tutoring art in New South Wales
as figures vary from Art Teacher to Art Tutor.
My rational is, an Art Teacher has a set curriculum to work by and
really can't deviate from that curriculum, whereas an Art Tutor simply
helps, guides and assists students with their studies. I also see
a Tutor has a more casual approach to the learning experience, therefore
you learn a more relaxed, easygoing environment.
And that's what I'm all about!! Relax and have an enjoyable time while learning.
So, my fee is negotiable and is based roughly on a minimum wage between an an Art Tutor and an Art Teacher and giving consideration to the tuition being very casual (time & duration wise) rather than working to set hours.

If you are within the Albury Wodonga region, I don't include travel costs.

If you're outside the Albury Wodonga Region, I add the cost of fuel for a one day class.

If you are more than 100 kilometres away from the Albury Wodonga Region, I might have to include accommodation costs, depending on start times and duration of classes.
