Here are some images of pastel paintings (drawings ??) for you to work from.  The images have been copied from a magazine called "Pastel Journal" published by ArtistsNetwork.com, so they are probably subjected to copyright.

I think it's OK to use the images for self educational purposes but I'd think twice before selling any work created from these images.

If one of your pastels are too bright (saturated) you can use this colour wheel to add the complimentary colour (diagonally opposite) under it, to reduce the saturation
