My Videos (trying to demonstrate watercolour,..)

Below are my very first attempts at making videos to demonstrate watercolour painting techniques.

I made these after the Art, Craft and Activities Group had a promotional advertising program resulted in about 15 people coming to the Art Class.  The setup didn't allow for a suitable way to demonstrate watercolour techniques as I had to show 2 or 3 people a technique then move on to the next 2 or 3 people, making my way around the class.  Everyone else had to wait until I made my way back to the start again.

It was a very difficult setup so, after some thinking, I decided to make YouTube videos to show the demonstrations.

That in itself was a big learning curve for me, so you'll have to forgive the amateur nature of the videos.

Here are my videos.  They will either open in this webpage, or you can click on the "Watch on YouTube" in the bottom left corner and it will open in YouTube.

The Easy Way To Mix The Colour You Want,...

You can work out how to mix the exact colour you want by using a web-based program called "Sensual Logic".

All you need to do is select the name of the manufacturer of the majority of your paint colours in the "Paint Set" box, and tick the colours you have in the "Select Paints" box, add a reduced sized (compressed) version of your reference photo into the "Open Image" box.  Click on the colour you want to know how to mix on your reference photo and click the "Calculate Recipes" box and the program gives you three (3) options to mix your colour.

It may not be "Spot-On" but it will be close enough for you to push it in th right direction !

Watercolour Washes Review

This was a review of doing washes in watercolour.
It is from February 2021.   I think the first one I did on watercolour washes, I deleted?

This one is A Review of the Review Videos,...?

This one was a follow-up from the first one, above (I think?),...

4thMarch  2021 - Handling Edges in Watercolour Painting.
A quick video to show how to soften hard edges and create the edges you want.

10th March 2021 - Snow Scene Painting.
I attacked this painting to demonstrate a few methods in watercolour painting. This painting was rushed so I could fit into a reasonable sized video, and it still ended up 1 hour and 20 minutes long. If I was to do this as one of my own paintings, I would have spent a lot more time on it. All-in-all though, I think it turned out OK for the time taken to complete it !

16th March 2021 - Making Your Own Colour Chart.
The easiest way to see what the colours in your watercolour sets look like when they are applied to paper, is to make your own colour chart. This video shows you how to rule up an A4 size page and start painting the colours from a 12 colour set of tube paints.

18th March 2021 - Painting The Tulip.
Sorry, this is another long video,... One minute under one hour,.. !!
In the first four minutes, I discuss a different watercolour paper (pad) and try to use it while overcoming its idiosyncrasies.
It was a bit of a battle. I set out to paint the three flowers in the one video, but it started to draw out too far, so this is just the Tulip. The other flower paintings will come later,...

19th March 2021 - Making A Greens Chart.
How to make a "Greens" colour chart using the few colours you may have in your paints set. Watch as I battle with the cheap paints and paper to try to create a 'Greens' colour chart. The "Greens" chart gives you a 'ready reckoner' guide to quickly find (or get close to) the green you are looking for.
